Dee started with almost nothing — no business experience, no customers and almost no money. He wanted a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. A company based on integrity. A company where there is no difference between what is said and what is done. Instead they quietly focused on doing the right things — the business principles Dee felt would be crucial to success.

And, lo and behold, success naturally followed. Jack had closed his business and was helping Dee with his new business endeavor. In the early years of Big-D Construction, all deals were generally settled with a handshake. The company brought Dee in and asked him to design and build an addition to their freezer in Ogden. They worked up a price and shook hands on it. Once the deal and the million-dollar price tag sunk in, Dee suggested that maybe they write something down on paper.

A Purchasing Order book was pulled out and the million-dollar job was handwritten to Big-D Construction. Salt Lake City, Utah office opened. At the time, the office would serve as a regional office for Big-D.

The team there also purchased its first computer — a used Apple III. The office was located near South and East in Salt Lake. It has since been demolished. A new drug "crack" appeared in streets. The Hubble Space Telescope was put into operation. The first transatlantic fibre optic cable was laid and carried 40, telephone calls simultaneously. So they were just a really big customer and we were doing jobs for them all over the West.

It really expanded our thoughts on what we can be. When you drive along Interstate 80 in the Salt Lake Valley, you may notice a beige and blue building that currently houses the administration offices and classrooms for the Granite School District. At first glance, the building looks like a hospital. And it once was; in fact, it was a hospital that Big-D constructed in the early 90s. The FHP Hospital project consisted of three separate buildings: It was a , square-foot project that put Big-D on the map for healthcare.

Aside from the buildings, Big-D also constructed an underground tunnel system that connected the Central Heat Plant and the Specialty Center with the Hospital. The hospital was completed in the spring of However, it was sold just 3-years later. The hospital was eventually renamed the Rocky Mountain Medical Center under new ownership. Granite School District purchased the vacant hospital in More than 3 million tortillas in a month!

What you may not know is Big-D built the facility more than 20 years ago. The production facility would be used to make corn and flour tortillas, chips, salsa and other products for sale by Mission Foods. Construction just took 10 months and today it produces about 21, tortillas in a day.

In the mids, Big-D Construction was roughly three times the size of most of its competitors. And the pressure was on to land the next big deal. That deal would come in the form of chips; computer chips to be exact. This would mark the largest project in the history of the company. The team poured more than 52, cubic yards of concrete, erected 5, tons of structural steel, and installed 5, tons of rebar.

Construction took just 8 months. Jack Livingood becomes CEO. Windows 95 was released by Microsoft. More than countries decided to extend the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. Ebay started their online auction and shopping website. The comet Hale-Bopp was discovered and became visible to the naked eye nearly a year later. Toy Story was made. It was the first ever film made completely by computer generation. Largest milk plant in the world. During the early 90s, Big-D was searching for an identity to help separate it from the competition.

So we tried to look for an identity. The vision was to create something that represented both construction and the strength of Big-D. The initial drawings of the Ironman evolved to include the hard hat and steel beam.

The Ironman has stood the test of time. His look and colors have never been altered. In the late 90s, Big-D Construction adopted an elementary school. But not just any elementary school. In , the school was officially adopted by Big-D Construction. As members of the Club, students received an honorary Big-D identification card, a t-shirt, baseball hat, and admission to go on special trips.

The school even had an Ironman in the main hall and whenever a student achieved a goal, his or her name was added to the beam. Big-D Construction also donated time and resources to repave the playground and repaint the interior and exterior walls of the school. It started as a vision more than a century ago. Nearly years after the Thomas D. This would mark the largest healthcare project for Big-D.

The new hospital was designed and constructed to provide a healing environment for patients and guests. There are panoramic windows, fountains, vibrant colors and artwork, walking paths, and a nearby nature preserve. Following its successful completion in , Intermountain Healthcare has brought Big-D back for a number of remodels and additions at the McKay-Dee campus. By the late s, Big-D Construction remained one of the leaders in the commercial construction industry in Utah.

Would be a cleverly concealed maneuver. As I no longer care to research or chase treasure, perhaps another will benefit from the info.

The bigger question is what to do with all the suspicions. Do I have a moral obligation or should I just leave it alone. Lia, Appreciated and noted. You appear to be a good researcher, and, IMO, others could benefit from your contributions. Forrest has iris flowers there. See, I have a problem with danger. It eludes me quite often. What I imagined as extremely frightening is just a muck in the rules for some.

Conversly, what others view as insanely brave, I guess is just pure stupidity on my part, or…hmmmm…lemme think…lol. Kinda reminds me of a rephrased: These words could be applied to the Sioux Standing Rock situation.

Sir, I can see your point. Standing Rock has been the beginning of the end for the Native Americans. It has redivided itself in the interest of greed and emerged from the pain once held.

Sitting Bull was vital to finding peace and kept his secret close. He was a good man and loved his people. The Sioux love the earth and the water is life. It was said that they could own a piece of earth but in any Native American language there is no words to own mother earth. Perhaps Yellow Hair will finally have his day. Fenn, I am sure many thoughts have crossed your mind of what is gong on at Standing Rock. Could you share your thoughts on how we can come together as a nation to find middle ground in situations like this?

Last week Forrest gave us what I personally consider the biggest clue he has ever given. Some may disagree with me and that is ok. I would just like to reiterate what he said and my evaluation one more time so that I can connect to the most people possible. I will preface this by saying that I could be completely wrong. However in my 5 years of research into his treasure hoard I believe that last weeks statement was integral to finding the treasure.

If you find my words to be potentially realistic… go for it. I would however relay FF words to me. He emailed me in response to my email to him and told me, quote. I believe last weeks words from Forrest have a really serious clue. Decide for yourself from what I stated last week. November 22, at If a person reads everything FF has written and makes a list of every PLACE that FF has ever spoken of and correlate that with what he has stated in this weeks weekly words, if you understand them completely, then there is only one search area.

Mildew CAN grow on wood given the proper conditions. The second most important thing that mildew needs is acidic conditions. Not a lot of acid, just enough. Let us say there was a river that FF frequented where there was such a condition where acid was naturally neutralized. Mildew could not live there no matter what. There is a place where FF frequented where the water is alkali instead of acidic.

He never spoke of the waters alkalinity but he spoke of the place often. The waters in the area that he spoke of are alkali meaning completely NON acidic. These places because of their very special makeup beget a much larger population of fish and as a result animals.

Where there is more food there is a much larger population of animals that feed on them. I believe, not that I have any ability to prove it, that FF believed his place to be a special place because of the abnormally large amount of wildlife in his special place. In the last 2 years I have been to this place 3 times.

Nobody is correct until they find it. There are only places in the WORLD where he could have hid the chest where it is impossible for mildew to grow.

Correlate that with the places he has spoken about that he has been to and there is ONE place. There is however 20 miles of area. I have been to everyplace but one. I brushed it aside not believing it could be there. I have given away to much already.

I will now retire till March. Book your rooms now. I am 50 years old. I have been doing research in a serious capacity since I was I truly love a seriously hard challenge. I have items in my personal collection that took me 4 years to identify properly.

That which FF has put before us intrigues me. Something inside me will not allow me to let it go. I may never find it, but that just proves FF point. Christopher Lawrence Clark chris centralfloridaauctionblock. I readall the way, and agree its a special place for him. And knowing the back stories helped, was there at my spot last November funny mud was still wet. Started in so they were younger then.

I feel like ttotc , is a treasure all by it self,. We will never be the same. Oh and did I mention we got to meet ff? Now I have to start writing books on my totc adventures. I will say one other thing. FF stated you will need a good map. The map you will need will be VERY hard to find. I have not found it yet.

It is an extremely hard map to find. It is a — mining map. There is no map made today that will tell you where. The place has been forgotten. Forrest found it by accident. He wrote the story many years before he hid the treasure but changed it 6 weeks before he announced to the world that he had hid the treasure.

What was in the original story that he changed? Maybe something about stinking creek? Can I prove it. I promise, my hand to GOD, FF stated he hid the treasure within a 6 week period so that nobody could go back and find out how far he drove. Does anyone have the original story before it was changed? Why was that story changed 6 weeks before he announced everything to the world? Then he told everyone he hid it in a 6 week period?

What was in the original story? I have that story and all the stories in that paper on file. If you want I can send you a copy.

I got a copy of that in high res. From the library of Congress awhile back on high res. PDF if you want it too. Funny thing about stinking Creek as I learned from the geospatial map ppl that sent it over…. Actually, even easier, you can find the stories on the Bowman daily chronicle site too. Last year I took 2 trips. BY Google Earth it might only be 3 ft tall. Again by Google Earth it is 20 ft from the top of Faries Falls. It might only be a falls in the spring. It is there though.

If you are good with maneuvering with Google Earth you can find it. I went there this year. Remember FF made 2 trips in a day and a child could get there with a little help. It is only my opinion, however to me this means that most dangerous animals stay away during the tourist season. However once people make there presence known during tourist season animals go away…. While in early spring I have seen footprints of mother and cub, however during the active tourist season I have NEVER seen footprints of bears in the tourist areas.

I cannot say one way or the other. That however is MY belief. Personally I grew up in Baltimore City. If I had only had to watch out for one thing it would have been much nicer.

What he grew up learning is not dangerous for HIM. It may be for us. What I grew up learning is not dangerous for me. Do we truly know if he is thinking of what is dangerous for us that know nothing or what he takes for granted is not dangerous because he knows the area and what to look for and listen to? Do we really know?

Personally it is my belief he took all of that into account. I cannot prove it but I believe he did. I believe it is someplace that many vacationers go to, just not most of them.

Most pass it by. Enough go there though to make sure that the bears rarely frequent the area during tourist season. Everything I say is my opinion. I have ZERO proof of anything. I wish you well. Unfaithful Falls and Fairy Slipper Falls. Please bare with me as your friend attempts to wrap lesser than equal brain function abilities around…. One last thing for tonight. Stinking Creek has had many names through the years. I do not at this moment remember what it is called today.

Jonsey I Will tell you everything I have on stinking creek if you can show me the map. You in your reasearch will find MANY stinking creeks in many states.. You can pull up the Galatian quadrant of the National Forest Service map issued that year online. He names the map in the story. The stinking Creek is right where he says it is. What else are you looking for? Wow, I thought everyone knew what the stinking river was or did I forget to explain what that was.

I must be in the wrong stinking town. I am looking for waterfalls. The box, indulgence, is wet but not underwater. That is my belief. I have no proof of that. Personally I work 60 hrs a week and right now I am being driven crazy trying to purchase a house. So at this moment if you are good you have a lot of time to out research me.

I cannot and will not state that if there is a waterfall between Red Canyon and Ennis that it is there. According to my research I am unable to find a waterfall anywhere in that area. I however personally believe that the box is always wet because of the spray of A waterfall which also creates his rainbow. Is there a waterfall between Red Canyon and Ennis that is not listed? Is THAT why he stated we needed a good map? I also know that EXACTLY 6 weeks before he made it known to the world that he hid the treasure by releasing the book the story was changed.

Maybe the story was changed by the editor and not by or for FF at all. Maybe the change in the story has nothing to do with anything. Only FF knows real answers. Am I on the right track? You gotta have more than that John boy, the spray from a waterfall can cover a lot of area. How did Fenn change his story 6 weeks before the before the release of the chase and how would that effect the outcome of the chase? I like the way you think, but knowing the way rivers and creeks change course in time I believe Fenn would have never put the chest anywhere close to either one and if he was standing where the chest is he said he could see forest, mountains , meadows so he can see a lot.

Thank you for that. I have kept it quiet for three years that I knew the story was changed. I do not know if the story you pointed me to is the exact original but I do know that it is different than the book and different than the story in the West Yellowstone newspaper.

While I am happy to have read that version, and it is different than any version I have ever read before in small ways I would still prefer to see the original printed newspaper. I see nothing, at this time, to explain why the story was changed six weeks before he announce to the world by releasing his book that he had hid his treasure trove. Everyone should research the Federal legal meanings of these words.

Would love to see one. Once I reread it I will let you know again. It is by Bucks Neck just south of Ennis. That is according to the book. I have not found that yet but I will if it exists. That again is my opinion. FF is a historian at heart. He loves living in his mind the way things were rather than the way things are.

That may not be the proper term but I am sure you understand my meaning. After a brief fight, Russell escaped west toward Stinking Creek. I am chris centralfloridaauctionblock.

It is however a place I am looking at. There is however a second place where Brown goes in winter. There is a falls there. It is easy to get to. There is no danger except maybe bears but the place is frequented often enough that the probably stay away during the height of the season. It is not a major attraction. It is however very accessible.

It is also ONE of the places that makes it possible for mildew to live there. There are many place in the same 20 mile area that make the entire area inhospitable for mildew. I have been to all of them but this one. The fact that the story was changed though intrigues me. Was it changed because he stated to much? Or was it changed to direct us away? I have read the book Journal of a Trapper and have found no notations about any waterfalls.

To me the source of his rainbow AND the box being wet without being in water. The spray from the waterfall keeps it wet and generates his rainbow.

If you are willing to send me what you have, the original story and the map that you have I would enjoy researching it. Is it the right place? I have no idea. It does have to be a place that FF could have walked to and from twice safely.

I know one place like that. Is that area another? I have given away so much of what I have found or at least think I have found I will promise that if I find something in what you have shared I will tell you.

I will not promise to tell you everything. Nobody who is a true searcher, that loves the chase, truly wants the end handed to them.

I will also answer questions. I believe FF wants this to be found. That however is my belief. I will work with anyone who is willing to work with me. I do not expect you to tell me your solve. The very last thing I have to say is that of the places in the world where mildew cannot grow the number one place in the world is between Texas Geyser and Ennis.

Just the place where a good map is hard to find. VERY hard to find. Take everything I have stated with a BIG grain of salt. Understand I am asking for old miners maps.

The maps that I am seeking I have been unable to find on the net. However I am sure that they pop up time to time at flea markets antique stores and auctions. Most people will never see my request for such maps and in my opinion most maps will show me nothing. I am also sure that looking at the area between Red Canyon and Ennis could yield nothing. I have had this idea for quite some time but I have not been able to move beyond the theory. Therefore I have decided to put it out there for everyone to look at and reflect upon.

I am one mind. Many minds have a better chance of deciding if I have a good theory or not. If my theory is deemed wrong so be it. Then I will move on. I have done what I am able to with it. Now I leave it to everyone else. I do prefer discussion rather than dismissal. Many minds working together have a better chance. I believe most have but here they are;. Knowing about head pressures, foot pounds, acre feet, bible verses, Latin, cubic inches, icons, fonts, charts, graphs, formulas, curved lines, magnetic variation, codes, depth meters, riddles, drones or ciphers, will not assist anyone to the treasure location, although those things have been offered as positive solutions.

He says there are no codes… I believe him. He says there are no ciphers, I believe him. He states that some searchers overrate the complexity of the search…. Sometimes regardless what we are trying to figure out in our lives the solution is simple but we believe it is hard so WE make it hard.

That being said easy for one mind is not always easy for another. I have been at this now for 5 years. Many times I have enlisted other people to give me their perspective and it has helped enormously.

Well only one piece. I am good at what I do. However I am not all knowing and I am definitely not perfect or I would be rich. It is all exactly what Forrest said it is, The Thrill of the Chase. There was once I thought I had it. I was wrong but I believed it so much I was actually sad that I believed it was over.
