Over the course of the s and 50s the collaborative film-making partnership of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger created a number of highly memorable films such as Black Narcissus and A Matter of Life and Death and their vivid and imaginative films, infused with passion and fantasy, assures them a place as major figures in British cinema.

With extensive clips, critical insight and analysis this day school will explore the remarkable and visionary cinematic world created by film-makers well ahead of their time. As well as the opportunity to become acquainted with some splendid films made by master film-makers in a relaxed and informative group of like-minded film fans, there will also be plenty of time for discussion of the many themes and concerns raised.
